    Electric definnatly

  2. Rock_to_Death says:

learn both but i think first start by electric then go to bass…

  3. Katie bb says:

Learn the electric. It may be more challenging for you and if you play the cello already, you’ll pick up the bass really easily. The electric will allow you to go further in your music if you desire.

well most bands will tell you lead electric guitarist’s are a dime a dozen but a serious bass guitar player is more a valuable commodity

haha, i don’t know the difference but i’d like the acoustic guitar.

  6. malilini says:

bass is harder to play if you have no experience with guitar-type instruments.
it’s bigger and the strings are thicker so it takes quite a bit to get the hang of it.
and the calluses are definitely not fun when you just start off.

Hmm….I would say electric. but seriously it’s not my decision. It’s all what you want to do. I think their might be a little more oppertunities if you went electric, btu then again Pete Wentz is the bass in FOB. Idk. He’s just nice to look at.

First of all, they are both "electric" instruments.
It is your decision, obviously, but I personally think that there are way too many guitarists in the world. You should definitely pick up the bass. It has so much character…and it is NOT easier than guitar by any means…unless you plan on playing just punk or rock music. To play bass, however, you must realize your physical limitations. Bass is heavier and the strings are a lot harder to hold down. The neck is also pretty wide and requires loooong fingers. Also, chick bassists are just cool.
    Have fun!

  9. Eric E says:

I started with bass and now I play both, but I think it might be theoretically easier to do it the other way around, because even though bass is easier to play at first, you get to know really important compositional things better with the guitar, like chord construction and progression.
