Where Exactly Are the Notes on a Electric Guitar?
i'm trying to learn how to play an electric guitar online...and whenever they say "a, b, c, d, e, f, g", i have no idea where these notes are on the cords.
can anyone tell me, or show me in a picture?
thank you!

That’s too big a question for here!
But I can answer a bit of it…
Notes have one of seven letter names (from A to G), but the guitar has more than 7 notes, so the same letter name appears in lots of places. For example, the guitar is tuned E A D G B E, meaning the top and bottom string have the same name, but they are 15 notes apart – one is a lot higher than the other.
Your best bet would be to go to your local music shop and buy a book on guitar. It will have a lot of photos and explanation that you won’t get in a forum like this, and it’s worth paying for because the pieces will all be chosen to take you through the learning process one step at at time…
