What’s a Good Electric Guitar to Use When Learning to Play Heavy Metal?
Should I invest in a BC Rich as my first electric guitar, or maybe an ESP?
If anyone could recommend a good guitar that isn't too expensive, (It has to be under 0.) I would appreciate it.
I already own an acoustic guitar, but the closest I can get to playing metal with it is just tuning it to Drop D.

If you are willing to buy used, I would get an old 80′s or early 90′s Charvel or Jackson from ebay. If you want new, I would look into an Esp like this

BC RIch’s are not all that great unless you spend a lot on them..IMHO

In that price range just about any guitar is fine. The quality on almost all brands in this range is very similar and you should not limit your self to these two brands. Check out the Ibanez and Schecter guitars as well as Fender, Epiphone, and all others. Take some time and play as many as you can before you decide. Go to every local store and try them all in your price range. Ask the sales people a lot of questions and they will be more than happy to help you find the right guitar for you. Remember that everyone has their favorites and ones that they dislike too so trust your own opinion more than any one elses.
Well Ibanez makes amazing guitars for cheap so I suggest an Ibanez, but even though this company isn’t really for beginners it still has really good guitars. I’m talking about PRS guitars. now then you might have to spend $50 more than what you wanted to, but they are so worth it. If I had $500 right now I would go to guitar Center and get 1.

However I have an epiphone Gothic styled one.
And I think it’s amazing for metal. Arppegiating feels really good with the fretboard. Also, it’s good for sweeping and tapping. But I feel it’s really controlled. And I’ve tried palm muting with it and normally palm muting sounds awful on my other guitar. But with the epiphone it’s easier. And their is allot of that kind of stuff in metal. However you need a good amp. As for cons. I honestly don’t see any cons in it.

I have a Caparison Dellinger II FX HGS now. It is the best purchase I’ve ever made of any kind. The guitar is THE guitar.
