What Can I Do? Guitar Lessons?
I have an electric guitar and will start lessons in March. By the time I will start, I would have a history of being self-taught for three months. There will likely be other kids there who will be all on different levels than me. I have some experience from being self-taught. How can I acknowledge that? Can I just follow along and don't bring it up?

i would just follow along, unless you know notes or the key that you are playing in when you play. if you know chords and the names of the chords, you should tell him. but it would be better to start all over and learn from someone the right way. trust me, it may help you when guitar gets harder. but if you know anything as far as chord progressions or reading notes, i would tell them
I was also self taught before I joined my after-school guitar program. Most of the people were somewhat self taught, such as knowing a few simple songs from tabs and nothing else. If you are in a group and you are slightly ahead of the others, help them out with issues that they might be having with their own playing. This can give you a big plus in their book, plus it will help out the teacher.
I’ve been self taught for two and a half years and now just recently started guitar lessons. Don’t sweat it, and remember that what they’re trying to teach you is important, whether it seems like it or not.
ya thats what i did lol. anyways noone gunna make fun of you if you suck. i di but know im the best in the class if that helps… anyway good luck and i hope you keep at it becuase guitar is the greatest intrument out there
u shuld school those noobies
Hmmm, usually guitar lessons are one on one with the teacher…I don’t know why you would have to bring it on…just play what you can… and there are a lot of guitar tutorials on youtube!
