What Are Some Easy Songs to Learn on Electric Guitar?
I've been playing electric guitar for around 2/3 weeks now and all I've been doing is learning chords. I want to learn some songs but don't know where to start. I like rock/alternative/indie music!
Thanks is advance!

People have given you some really good songs to try so far. I would also recommend:
Basket Case- Green Day
Paranoid- Black Sabbath (although if you have a friend who has been playing longer, it’s an idea to play rhythm for them and they can play the solo)
Eye of the Tiger- Survivor
More Than A Feeling- Boston
Holy Diver- Dio (again, the solo is hard but the riffs are nice and easy, so play with a friend)
The Passenger- Iggy Pop
It’s always a good idea to find someone to jam with so you can get used to rhythms and suchlike. They can help you learn and you can play songs with two guitar parts.
Angry Chair – Alice in chains.
Come as you are – Nirvana
dude i’ve been playing for a while, i’m not exactly a beginner anymore but i still love jamming to alternative rock songs !
here are my favorite, and easiest ones from my songs to play:
Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
The Rock Show – Blink 182
My Own Worst Enemy – Lit
Man Overboard – Blink 182
I Woke Up In A Car – Something Corporate
Feeling This – Blink 182
Dammit – Blink 182
All The Small Things – Blink 182
Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes…you start on A and the tabs are 7, 7, 10, 7, 5, 3, 2 then 7, 7, 10, 7, 5, 3, 5, 3, 2 and then it basically repeats the entire song with minor changes throughout…most White Stripes songs are that easy
I might sound off by a little but too, but it will sounds pretty much alright…if you want to sound exactly like the song does, you need to get an Octave Dive Pedal
Also, you can do some cool stuff with a Midi pad, but guitars that come with them already installed are expensive…Korg makes some cheap effective ones…
METALLICA- NOTHING ELSE MATTERS NICE TO START OFF TO.
you could try some of these, i found them easy when i was learning:
Boys like girls – Thunder
Katy Perry – Hot n Cold
Oasis – Wonderwall
The Libertines – dont look back into the sun and what a waster is also easy too.
if you can play Bm then you could try the butter fly collector by the jam but the chord change can be quite tricky
you can find tab/chords for all of these on ultimateguitar.com
hope i helped:)

From the rock side, you could go with Back in Black by AC/DC and Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.
the ramones blitzkrieg bop is pretty easy.
you could also do aerials by system of a down but your guitar needs to be in drop d for that.
chords are basic but essential to learning guitar, before you start learning songs get you’re strumming and chord changing down first. They seen pointless now but i promise they are worth you’re time.
There are countless songs that only have 3 chords. Try this site

..and no, "smoke on the water" is not an easy song to play, Ritchie Blackmore only made it sound easy. There are very difficult solos. The riff is fun though.
Depending on what type of music you like, The Eagles have many strumming songs to sing along with, that new song by Theory of a dead man, "I hate my life" is super easy. Just go with what you like.
Start out with easy riffs from Deep Purple like "Smoke on the Water" – Metallica songs can be simple too. Find a book with some actual finger position pics too, for songs you like. They are out there!
Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple
Walk This Way by Aerosmith
Thunderstruck by AC/DC
Iron Man by Black Sabbath
these are all fairly simple beginner riffs. Smoke on the water and iron man are just power chords, thunderstruck is basically just a hammer on and pull of excersice and walk this way is just super easy. Happy guitar playing! =)
