why I can’t find this model with EQ? The others 50/12 that appear in ebay and other places are without the EQ. Nice review, and I love the sound, that’s the reason I want one, and Fryette stopped make them. f*ck
Is this the ST???? The 50 ST? Or 50 CL? You have to specify because they are different.

Cool sounds! Good & Usefull revieuw. Today I bought a second hand CL50 head (with reverb). And your revieuw will be very helpfull because there’s no manual with my amp.

Excellent review and amp. I own a forest green VHT Pitbull 45 2 by 10 by 112 combo that is really the best amp I’ve ever owned. Anyone viewing this for the purpose of researching VHT Amplification should know that the primary designer now operates his own company known as Fryette Amplification where the quality continues. What you are viewing here is not currently being built by VHT.
What tubes you running?
very informative review. shows the versatility of the amp. sounds great. i really like the distorted tones you got.
That first distorted tone has an AC/DC sense about it…. I like that amp. How do you think it would handle classic rock?
I am actually going to look at buying one myself. I got a huge crate 33tube watt and while it sounds fine and dandy I just dont like the tone and warming the fucking thing up.

@VinniesReviewPage in most cases that is true…but i have heard some pretty harsh and fizzy tube amps, even when they are in the best settings possible

VHT (now Fryette) do make fabulous amps. Nice review too, I hadn’t really looked into the combos as I prefer heads and cabs but with space considerations at the forefront, that looks perfect.
Your review was very good. I don’t know why but I found you very beleivable and with your wry humour, somewhat reminiscent of Russel Brand (that’s supposed to be a compliment sorry if you dislike him). Nice work.
