Stopped Taking Guitar Lessons, Learning Is Non-Existant?
I stopped taking guitar lessons back in April, at the time that I stopped, I took them for almost 3 years. Now that I have stopped, I can't learn. I really want to. I bought a book, but I lack the incentive to learn it. Reason being: I don't understand it. Is there any way I can learn new things about the electric guitar by myself?

no matter what anyone else says, this is the correct answer.
you have to find inspiration. you need to look at a guitar player and be absoloutley amazed. you need to think "WOW, I CANT WAIT UNTIL I CAN DO THAT!!!!!!!!" theres no other way. you need that kind of inspiration. once you have it, you’ll be practicing for hours a day.
I have been playing guitar for 20 years without lessons. there’s a lot to learn. do a lot of listening, trying to play what you hear.
Well if your playing guitar it’s to make music I presume. Lol
Just take songs you like and musical styles you like and listen to them, a lot! Then start trying to transcribe what you hear.
I think to learn by transcribing is far more developmental then formal lessons are. Just use your ears, it’s frustrating at first but it will get easier with time and it will help your playing immensely.
Think about it.
If you can get to the point you can play any melody or phrase you hear aloud on your guitar then you’ll be able to play any musical idea you can sing/hum or think!
