Schecter Omen 8 String Guitar Review (Walnut Satin)
Thought I'd share my new Schecter Omen 8 string guitar I got from Guitar Center online. Let's just say for the 0 it's priced (I got it cheaper from an online deal), it's very nice and would have thought it was worth a lot more if I had not know about it. In this video, this is my second day playing the guitar, I ordered the guitar on the 23rd of August. This is the first time I officially played an 8 string since a few years ago at a guitar shop I was messing around on the Ibanez 8 string, massive guitar too and an example of not going from 6 to 8 since that way way before I started playing 7 strings. Hope you guys enjoy the video. Intro song is "This is What We Built" by Shattered Skies. @Chiisongs Thanks for watching and for the support. Hope this makes you want to try one out for yourself or anyone that you know
@stoutmeister91 sounds so fascinate =D
@marco1718mark Thanks man really appreciate that. I’ve had some fun making songs with this thing.
This is a real beauty man! congratulations on having one:)!
It sound sick! I love everything about it! \m/ \m/
@Raidenstream Thanks man, I love this guitar so much. I’ve been writing on this thing like crazy. Definitely will be using this more in the future \m/\m/
Ya I love mine. Have had it for a few months now running it into a Pod X-3Live and the tones are really nice. For the money you can’t beat it. Cheers brother.
@TheDragon7t Hell yea man, here I’m running it through my BOSS ME70 which is hooked up to my Line 6 UX2, in my latest 8 string video, the Boss is hooked up to my Ibanez TBX150 amp. I love how this guitar plays, plays better than alot of the expensive guitars that I know of if not just as good.
Really useful man, I was thinking of getting one of these for my first 8, now I definitely am. Quick question, – what guage string do you use for the 8th? I was gonna use something like a .74
@ZenotheMetalWarrior The one I have is a .74 gauge, those will be very good for the 8 definitely, especially if you want to downtune it a little bit. Thanks for stopping by bro \m/
@stoutmeister91 Thanks, brosef. Can’t wait to get one of these now. It’s my next purchase, cuz it can double as a back-up for my 7
@ZenotheMetalWarrior As well as adding a low sound
@stoutmeister91 Well of course. I’ve been wanting an 8 string for almost a year now, seeing as I listen to so much Meshuggah. They’re the reason I got a seven string, too.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior Hell yea man same here, I love their album ‘obZen’ as well as their older stuff. I believe they started on 7s until they started tuning really low. Either way 8 is the max I’m going as far as extended range guitars go.
@stoutmeister91 Same here. Anything past that, unless the strings are doubled, like a Twelve String, is ridiculous lol. And Meshuggah used 7s, until Catch Thirtythree. Then they went back and re-recorded it with their new Ibanez 30 inch scale monster 8s. And personally, I quite like Catch Thirtythree. It’s stood out the most so far, to me. Although the 2002 7-string version of Nothing is quite interesting, too. It has a more raw, powerful feel than the new one. The new one is way cleaner
@stoutmeister91 almost too clean. It sounds kinda sterile.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior Oh yea man, gotta give Meshuggah credit for their music because they inspired alot of metal such as Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Periphery, Tesseract, Chimp Spanner, Animals as Leaders, pretty much all your djent bands.
@stoutmeister91 DJENT IS NOT A GENRE, IT’S A SOUND. Sorry, that’s just always bothered me. All bands classified as Djent can fall under some sort of Progressive or Technical metal. But yeah, Meshuggah had a huge influence on Metal music.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior I never meant to describe djent like that, I was simply stating that the modern day ‘djent’ bands, bands that use the djent sound have a big Meshuggah influence and yea it is true that it’s found in progressive metal.
@stoutmeister91 I find the people that think Bulb originated that sound hilarious.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior Even he said that Meshuggah ‘invented djent sound’ lol
@stoutmeister91 which is why the people that think he did are idiots lol. But Periphery did popularize it. I will admit, when I want to djent, I snag his EQ settings.
@stoutmeister91 Meshuggah did not inspire Fear Factory or Strapping AT ALL! those 3 bands stand on their own as the evolution of extreme music.. mabey in later years but not in the beginning.. im not giving you shit brudda but FF and SYL are in a different league to those other bands you named, who are influenced by the almighty mesh.
@SilentDarkness2332 I was sure Meshuggah had an inspiration for FF and SYL at some point but even if they didn’t, both bands still love Meshuggah. Indeed Meshuggah is awesome. I was actually listening to Obzen and Future Breed Machine the other day, that’s some nice stuff right there.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior Indeed they did popularize it and nice.
@stoutmeister91 Yeah. It’s a great Djent setting. Bass at noon, mids cranked, and treble at about 2 O’clock. And it’s loud, too.
