RO-004 • Mini Sweep Picking Arpeggios (Guitar Lesson)

In this guitar lesson we check out some mini sweep picking arpeggio patterns. I take you through a basic string pattern and explain the technique and show you a few variations and licks but you should go explore this concept yourself too. Few extra tips, TAB and soem other hints I forgot to mention on the web site too. Hope you dig. BTW - yes I know I said variations kinda strange, it was some kind of stutter thing, but I couldn't be arsed re-filming. And I do know that I'm not great at this stuff, before you shred heads have a go about the fact that my sweeping is a bit sloppy. But i's heavily requested and I can teach it ok I think. I'm not a technical kinda guy, and not that keen on become one!Taught by Justin Sandercoe. Full support at the web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem. And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships. Just tons of great lessons :) To get help with your lesson or song look up the number at the start of the video title (like ST-666 or whatever) on the Lesson Index page. www.justinguitar.com .

@ieatcheez4breakfast telecaster, Fender Telecaster, referred to as the Tele, they’re nice if you like sharp cool tones.

  2. Spafey says:

@JustinSandercoe Ignore the fools lol. Brilliant as usual.

  3. Twiggyay says:

Good job making Telecasters look cool =P

And, you are honestly the only one here on the Tube that teaches me anything.
after you`re finished with your sentence i always make 100 percent sense of it and if I don`t, you catch up and say “remember to…” or “keep in mind…” and i get it. my point is that you cover every aspect of everything I need to learn and even something i don`t.

    You`re awesome.

  4. CRACKA205213 says:

    thank you so much!

  5. oluap214 says:

im not an expert on sweep picking. but you can actually just hammer on and pull off all the notes going down. so basically your picking hand just goes downwards and not up. (im not sure if it makes sense) but yeah. it works for me and it sounds smoother.

i love the video. thanks justin!

  6. KyleThePainPayne says:

Yay 4 years in and i can sweep better than you, Your’e just a better writer than me :)

  8. chasadomas90 says:

Hey man, i love your videos.. ive been teaching myself how to play guitar for like a year now, and your videos have been a real cornerstone for my playing… i have a problem tho.. i really want to learn what i need to learn in the right order so i dont miss basics or anything, so do you have any suggestions in terms of which concepts of guitar i should learn first? my goal is to play like how you play in this video, to do sweep picking and solos and stuff…

  9. ePiCfAiL665 says:

@JustinSandercoe don’t worry justin, they’re just being douchy, you are still the best youtube teacher out there :)

  10. torrid94 says:

@JustinSandercoe hey great tone…how do you get quite a fat tone from the fender??

  11. torrid94 says:

Great and useful videos……helped me a LOT!!!

  12. Kentypooilu says:

I was going to like this video.. but it’s kind of at 420.. and I want to keep it that way.

  13. braveswaves says:

hey thanks justin. your the best. this sweep picking really is hard up towards the low E. Also NeoClassicalFan shows more advanced sweep scales and licks.

  14. yensilluap says:

Thanks a lot – a great video – clear instruction and nicely filmed so it is easy to understand. I’ve been playing guitar for many years and have never got the hang of sweep picking. I think this will help, as long as i am patient! Your humility is a nice quality. Thanks for the help!

  19. GuitarLessons365 says:

    Nice lesson Justin!!

  20. donjo911 says:

Great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to create/post it with both fretboard and right hand picking motion!

  21. SuperARandall says:

@JustinSandercoe Hi J, i am thinking about sending MercyStudios a message about the variations slur. I think this is unfair. I would like to see MercyStudios do a video on how to play very complicated guitar work and narrate at the same time. I think you are so wacky at the same time and really dig your caps dude. Is it possible you can do some videos playing in a vest so we can see the upper body shoulder and bicep movements. Do you have a video on how to tune a guitar. LONG LIVE POP

  22. SuperARandall says:

@MercyStudios I am deeply upset at your slur on J (justin, but i call him J). I would not have noticed the pronounciation of variations. I think this is unfair, especially as J dedicates a lot of time and hard work AND dedication to his lessons. He has totally changed my life by his easy to understand how to play the guitar. I am also confident to use the word “dude” as a term of “my friend”. I used to dislike the word “dude” but J (Justin) has given me this confidence. SEND HIM AN APOLOGY!!!NOW

  23. MercyStudios says:

Oh for the love of freedom-of-speech-within-YouTube-comments!
First of all, once again great lesson, Justin, keep ‘em coming.
@SuperARandall What in the world are you worrying about? Justin didn’t say the word “variations” in that particular way because of his accent (which is awesome, by the way). It’s just a little funny how he said it, and I think we should all have a laugh about it instead of pointing fingers to people who supposedly use “slurs” or whatever you accused me of. Alright?

  24. JustinSandercoe says:

@SuperARandall Nice of you to be concerned, but I think Mercy is just taking the piss – which is fine – I take the piss out of other people too – in fact I would probably make fun of me for my mis-pronounciation too – so chill out and don’t worry about it. I’m not! :)

  25. bumsex4me says:

justin, that is some crazy speed,i wonder will i ever get there!
