I myself am all for playing with feeling. Vai and Satch have plenty of it. As you guys said, how the hell do you SWEEP with feeling? It’s too fast, there’s no room for any feeling there! I agree completely with you guys.

My opinion of that whole “feeling-stuff” is as follows:
When it comes to melodies or sth like that, it´s the art of interpretation (like vibrato, p.h.´s or sth else).
But when it comes to highly technical things, the “feeling” expresses itself in the tone and the tidiness.

pretty much flawless techinique. But can you apply it in a musical situation?
Since the guitar is played by a human being and not a block of wood or a computer the playing has feeling.Have you ever wonder why so many people dig fast sweeps?Cause they convey certain emotions.Maybe its not the emotions you like-like sustaining a note with vibrato but they are emotions nonetheless.I know its a stretch for you but please grow the hell up.

@dragonlee90 …and they dont have the ability to play with feeling either..only satriani in the rock world of instrumental guitarists you mentioned..
@element1988 feeling with sweeps is not playing boring straight out sweeps its changing them up a little bit you dont have to do basic sweeps like this listen to a band called necrophagist they sweep in ways alot of people dont they dont just play normal sweeps they change it up abit it is possible to add feeling to sweeps just not when your playing the most basic ones where there is no room for it
