I just traded my MiM strat for a PRS SE. I love the PRS a lot. I have no problems with it besides the fact that i prefer burstbucker pickups. I’m getting some put in next week.
that is one ugly colour!
Concering your dislikes: The reason it only has one tone and one volume is because in the middle pickup selection it has to go through twice as many potentiometers which sucks tone. They bypassed that by using this method.
@nickstur i like it
i am trading a dean shadow dime xl for this…. is this a good trade? ( both in good codition)
aww no trem arm?
Wow he’s not exactly enthusiastic
@johnhguitar You can write all the books you want. I have two terms at Berklee, does that count? Futhermore, I am in the Navy and have been for 16 years plus. I will say it again, if you are not into it, don’t post a video. A product review should be almost neutral, and devoid of opinions to a point. But please, don’t insult me by throwing your son’s Air Force career in my face, nor your published music books.
Besides that, you have posted a product review on an open forum, and are now upset because of my opinion about YOUR opinion? You would rather I didn’t print anything? Exactly how does that figure in your idea of “American”. Thanks for listening!
In all fairness, I guess the washing cars remark was a bit much. So I apologize for that.
@johnhguitar LOL Nice reply. Great review as always.
Sorry but I have to play the guitar because it’s all I know how to do. I can’t wash cars because I’m a little too old for that. Sorry if you didn’t like my review; they brought the guitar to me from the Guitar Center and I’d never played one before. I thought I was giving an unbiased opinion but maybe your right. I should stick to playing instruments and shut up.
No no listen your right. I’m tired of talking about guitars and it shows in these reviews. I’d like to think of myself as a player but when you’re not gigging you have to do something to make money; teach, sell instruments, at least something music related. People don’t deserve to hear someone’s unenthusiastic comments about equipment that might be ideal for them. You’re doing me a favor by kicking me around a bit. I didn’t see it at first but now that I’ve settled down I’m beginning to hear U.
I suggest filing down the sharp pieces on the bridge. Or maybe try the version with the wraparound?
I am so depressed after watching this..
lol
sorry i really dig the guitars and your opinion but the fact that you dont use pick and use a 150$ dlr amp to show 2000$ guitars is a crime.
good honest review…thanks
i am sooo gonna buy this guitar here in the philippines, cause its 40% discount until May.
hello john, great review. cheers!
I wish it had a carved top…
Review moves too slow. Work on your delivery and make it more to the point!
should i get this one or the schecter hellraiser c-1?
I want a very versatile guitar, because i want to play from blues to metal
Correct me if im wrong, but i think that for blues and soft rock the prs will be a little better, but for metal distortion the schecter with the emg81tw (coil tap) will be better.. :S
please help me
Please Stop comparing theese guitars to Gibsons!! prs have there own tone and they sound great. The pickup blending thing is what Gibson do not evan custom 24s do that
I usually like your vids so sorry but these guitar are differant to gibsons in evary way
Sorry:(!!
@orlandosoplon77 The Schecter Hellraiser C-1 is probably even more versatile, in terms of sound. It’s probably got the warmest EMGs on the market, they’re coil tapped, so that’s good.
But the great thing is, it’s the first guitar I’ve seen with EMGs that can handle cleans.
The PRS is known mainly for creamy tones, if that’s you’re thing.
Wow that is an very crazy article for me. I like your blog. Maybe you should write more articles of these type.
If I had to describe this article in one word, it would be awesome. I think this is a wonderful piece of work that deserves recognition. I enjoyed reading it. I completely agree with you.
