    @gibsonCat100 In a D chord the root is D. In a C chord the root is C. Get the picture?

    C root 3rd 5th
    C-E-G
    because the C “Major scale” is c d e f g a b c. The first note of that scale is C or the root. The third of that scale is E. And the fifth of that scale is G.

    All other guitar instructors should be required to get a license to teach guitar from Marty. I can’t tell you how many lessons I’ve taken from dill weed “teachers” that have no idea how to impart their knowledge to their students…it’s always vague, confusing, boring crap. Marty, your lessons are fun and they make sense…you seem to have a knack for getting your point across very clearly. You are offically my hero dude..rock on!

    Tired of your pinkie dangling out when you’re supposed to be rocking out? You’re not some dainty at a tea party, you are Gard of Team Death Metal! Nobody uses their pinkie to play guitar anyway, it just looks weird flailing helplessly all around. End your, and your pinkie’s, misery.
