Learn Basic Electric Guitar Chords

A few questions about beginning playing the guitar?
So i am interested in starting the guitar. I have a few questions that have been wondering around in my head that i need to get cleared up.
1. How long should i play the acoustic guitar before switching to the electric guitar.( I heard its better to start with the acoustic guitar)
2. Should I learn all the chords i can first or just the basic chords?
3. How long should i practice a day?
4. Should I always do warm up techniques before i start practicing?
1. play the acoustic guitar until you play the chords and scales at a level you determine is adequate to play easy songs.
2. Learn the 5 chord shapes in the open position (E, A, D, G, C), then learn all the different positions to play them (E at the 2nd fret being F#), and all their minor and 7th variations.
3. As long as you can, though giving your hands a rest.
4. Yes, do the basic box scales based around the chord shapes previously mentioned, again in different positions.
That should give you a good grounding in the basics, from which you can go on to learn more complex patterns.
