Is There a Program That Allows You to Jam Online?
I have an electric guitar and my friend has one as well and we would like to play together but we live far away. Is there a program out there that allows us to plug our guitars into the computer so my friend can hear my guitar through his speakers and vice versa? I've tried msn video chat... the quality isn't too great.

Check Indabamusic.com You can actually collaborate with other people in a virtual studio environment. Mind you, it’s not in real time, but they provide you with an online sequencer and other tools to help you record and work on music with other people all across the globe.
You will also need a USB audio interface to run your guitar into your computer. Any other means will greatly sacrifice signal and sound quality. Lower priced ones run about $100-150US and are sometimes are packaged with Multi-track recording programs like Cubase, Protools LE, and others.
