    @awesomewelles90 yeah definetly

    I got one of these today. As of yet, I’ve not been able to reproduce the sweet tone you’re getting out of it. I’m running it through a Vox Valvetronix, and it’s just been a muddy tone so far. Still working at it, though. I’m trying to nail down a George Harrison-ish tone out of it.

    Great neck, super playable. Not the easiest guitar to play sitting down, but that’s just something for me to get used to— Been playing Strats.

    Most hollows restrict access to upper frets, but this one seems fine.

  3. metalmonkey666 says:

    Can you play Hardrock on this? And some light metal…? I play everything so just wondering.

  4. RickM872 says:

    You might get a more metal tone by switching pickups. Neck pickup will give you a beautifully smooth lead tone, but I don’t know that the bridge pickup is up to giving you a driving metal tone. If you’re playing more advanced chord voicings, it might be worth a shot. But if you’re chugging away at power chords, the bottom is muddy.

    I’ll put it in terms of Beatles songs— If I was playing “And Your Bird Can Sing” this would be my guitar. “Revolution”? I’m going with a Strat with a humbucker.

    Ehh I ended up picking up an ibanez sz series. Not sure which one it is though they had like a 520,300,200. Came with an hardshell and had some new emg active pickups put in it. Great deal $300

    sounds like shit

  13. FrancisTheGook says:

    I personally have this ibanez in the sunburst model and it’s super versatile. With my vox vt the distortion is pretty mean and you can do some metal, but just don’t forget it’s still semi-hollow, so if the gain is super high they’ll be a lot of feedback. You should also check out the Ibanez AJD91 and AJD71T. The are from the artcore series but are thinner semi-hollows so they are more comfortable. I was gonna get one but couldn’t find one at the time then only after i got the as73 i found it -_-

    I have an Ibanez Artcore Model AS73-BK-12-01
    I paid $699 bucks for it in Australia, would be maybe $200 cheaper in the US. Looks a lot like BB Kings Gibson, sweet action, but I probably should have it set up by a Luthier but if I could afford that I probably would have bought a Gibson Archtop. Anyway, as he recommends it is worth having a Luthier tidy it up. One problem mine has it does not hold tuning well. A Luthier could probably fix that.

    i got a as73t-tcr, and its a bargan. its basically the same as this guitar, but has different pick-ups, and has a whammy bar, and its in a transparent cherry colour, its beautiful.

  24. THEGSPOT0394 says:
