I studied classical guitar for a while. This guy is just playing by ear, he’s not doing the proper tech as someone else noticed.
Class. guitar requires you to read music. The low E is 3 lines below the staff and the higher notes go several lines above the staff. It’s challenging. You must read not only the note but also which fret and string it’s played on. Learn to read music before tackling class-guitar!
Plenty good videos of classical guitar on YT. “Recuerdo del Alhambra” especially

i love the last song moonlight sonata<3

  3. ggbj11 says:

    great lesson!!

  4. TenacMarke says:

I still study cllassical guitar infact I go to classical music school :) it’s not true that someone who wants to play classical guitar has to read notes :) though he/she must learn to read if he’s aiming on music school but you can play classical pieces by ear it’s just a matter of choice if someone wants to play little classical but by the way, don’t let the notes scare you :) it’s not that had as it looks hehe :)

  5. Khamomil says:

You’re kidding right? The easiest pieces for beginners are still written in traditional notation therefore reading is ESSENTIAL.. You don’t need to go to school but it helps to have a teacher and a classically trained teacher will show you proper hand position. A lot of chords in classical guitar cannot be played by ear bcause many are not in the root position.

It’s true that classical training in guitar helps a lot for expression and technique as someone said.

  6. TenacMarke says:

I don’t know why are you trying to fight :) I didn’t mention anything about playing like real classical player or something like that, I just mentioned that if someone likes the sound of classical guitar or just likes playing classical songs its not rule that you need to play some classical song the way it is written Some one is playing guitar not profesionaly but just for fun and where is a problem if he learns song by ear because he LIKES it and he plays it for him and his kids or relatives :)

  7. Kumoxi says:

Good music is made by ears, not by notes.

  8. Khamomil says:

Are you saying that all the music that has been written is garbage, or are you saying that a good musician needs a good ear? Of course a good ear, and ear training are necessary, but the music that was written needs to be played the way it was written, not faked, out of respect for the composer and the public.

  9. Kumoxi says:

A good musician needs a good ear, you are totally right. I get what your saying, though, but I just think, that a musician is a better musician if he has GREAT ears and no knoowledge about theory, than turned around.=]
I still get what your saying, though.

  10. Khamomil says:

Ah we’re coming to an agreement! Some of the best musicians in Blues, Jazz, Rumba and also popular singers, couldn’t read music and didn’t know music theory yet they had a great ear and made chords by instinct. Check out for ex Django Reinhardt, the genius of Gypsy jazz and get your mind blown away.

Conversely classically trained musicians are unable to improvise. That is because the approaches are different. In classical music you don’t study harmony because you aren’t required to improvise.

  11. Kumoxi says:

Thanks Bud!! You sound like a guitar god to me:P

btw. i really like your modded Segway!
    Thumbs up,
    cheers mate

  12. ariades says:

I just have to ask. Do any of you know what the song played at the beginning is? I know I’ve heard it quite a few times, and it would be nice to learn it.

  13. Dose0fReality says:

Its a prelude in D major by Bach. Its a staple classical guitar piece ever since Segovia transcribed it for guitar.

  14. ariades says:

Oh, thanks a bunch! You wouldn’t happen to know where I can find some tabs? I wasn’t able to find any. I’ve managed to find out parts of the song, but I’d rather see some correct tablature.

  15. jakadaba says:

At least you have to be able to play properly to be able to make a lesson video. This is not in that category..
    Zap on to be satisfied..

  16. gamergeek3000 says:

just search classical guitar prelude in D, bach, then find a video where is shows their hand and just watch that. I don’t know where you could find tabs, most classical stuff like this is all on ledger lines.

  17. barjtom says:

    @Kumoxi
    Refuted.
    Beethoven’s ninth…

  18. EvenHummROCKS says:

  19. brilliantlights says:

    Excellent job!

  20. Rexicano says:

You need to get out more.
PLENTY of Classical player can and do practice improvisation.
And Classical players don’t study harmony? Absurd.

  21. Nautilus987 says:

    tabs suck!!!

  22. Conorhstone says:

    @Nautilus987 Blasphemy

  23. zrssav says:

wats the name of the song hes playing in the beginning of the video?

  24. lovelyhay says:
