Only time can answer that. Even with constant practice, you may not pick up the skill for quite a while. Some people are naturals and are able to perform almost instantly. Give it a try and see.
To get good enough to play in a decent band it took me about 3 years. You technically can start a band at any skill level but if you want to do a good job and create good music it’ll take at least 2 years of playing every day for about 30 minutes and a couple of hours on the weekend learning music theory. Learn Chords, ONLY 1 scale, and the notes on the fret board. then you can start to create some decent music! It’s well worth the time put in, playing in a band is the $hit.
It depends on how devoted you are to the instrument.

depends. rhythm guitar you can probably learn in about a year or so. lead will be significantly longer. good luck!!
