I am a tube snob with a $2,000 amp and a $2,000 boutique pedal board. The Boss GT-10 the single best guitar related investment I have ever found. If you cant make perfect music with this then your missing the point. Its a swiss army knife of tools and if you dont want to lug $9,000 of stuff to the local sawdust bar where it could get stolen or beer damage then this is what you need. Drunks wont know its not real.
The best amp for this unit is (don’t laugh) the Traynor K4 keyboard amp. Keyboard amps have tone stacks or preamp section, meaning no colouration to their sounds, therefore recreate the sound of the preamps in the GT-10 the best. It is also a stereo amp, which is handy for the 2 channel feature of this board. You really do not get what this thing can do with a mono setup. Check out extremevideopro here on YouTube, he is awesome with these things.

For what I just heard when he demo-ed the rectifier setting (in the beginning of the vid) it came pretty close to my triple rec. It wasn’t the sound and settings I use… but I definitely can here the typical rec sound.
So you can save pedal 1 as a pre-amp, pedal 2 as OD, pedals 3 and 4 as FX, and then use the CTL 1/CTL 2 pedals to assign functions to the expression pedal?
when you connect gt-10 with usb do you need to have a soundcard? i just have my laptop… also what program do you use to record can cubase recognise this gt-10? thank you..
Great vid! just wondering you mentioned that it isnt any good for your tube sounds like crunch, blues etc.
Do you know of or does anyone know of a multi effect pedal that is good for those sounds??
I have a good tube amp but was just thinking that they are the sounds I use quite often and if im gonna buy a pedal I want it t o have those capabilities to.
Cheers!
can you run this effects board through an amp?

Yes, you press the System button and scroll to Manual, that puts your board into a stomp box mode.
