How many coats of paint on a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar?
Could not find this info at Fender.com, that's why I'm asking 
Painting isn't so much done in "coats" per se, but as a function of getting good coverage on the body. Most Fenders today are polyurethane paint, which is sprayed on and then, when dry, buffed to a nice finish. With the old nitrocellulose paints, you'd spray a coat, let it dry, and then recoat. No need with poly - its sprayed until its covered and then its done. Its put on pretty thick though.
