@Killer9299 yeah i meant i higher gauge 10′s or 11′s are usually good, and the truss rod is a metal rod that runs through the length of the neck because when you switch to a higher or lower string gauge the tension of the strings on the neck causes the neck to warp, the truss rod puts counter tension on the neck to keep it straight so when you upgrade to a higher gauge you’re gonna need to adjust it a little
@Killer9299 okay, i think i get it now…thanks man, merry christmas!!!
@ElvisBluntman777 i dont really a agree with your neck statement. paul gilbert, steve vai, joe satriani (ibanez), and yngwie malmsteen (fender) all use bolt on neck guitars and their sustain is pretty awesome.
@ElvisBluntman777 lol no problem, you too
Can’t wait to do this lesson! Woohooooo! You’ve been liked!
@StrikeOnDrifter it is kinda true…try for yourself…btw from what i know steve vai uses a sustainer…
@ElvisBluntman777 I hope your not talking about getting good long sustain at bedroom levels because that is impossible without any heavy dist or compressor/sustainer. Thicker string do help you sustain, but the most important part of sustain is your bridge/tremolo. A good bridge should give you more sustain. Adding vibrato to your playing will make notes longer. Also! adjust the height on your pickups, make sure they arent too close to the strings because the magnet pulls the strings.
@ElvisBluntman777 One thing you can also do, is place the headstock of your guitar close to the guitar speaker. It will make your guitar resonate more causing longer notes. Steve Vai does ballerina dance moves in stage but reality is that he find places in the stage where certain notes feedback and sustain better. Finally, clean your guitar and make sure every screw on the guitar is tight. Hope this helps.
@francisco444 in fact just yesterday i learnt how to do feedback harmonics and yeah the sustain is definitely louder and better with this technique..its really fucking cool!!
