Electric Guitar Technicians

Then the guitar frets damage coated strings?
I can use strings coated electric guitar, have been for some years. When I took my guitar to work, the technician told me that I went to bed wearing the frets and strings if he continued to use chains would fill a box cover change shortly. I think if all that the coating provides a barrier between the frets and metal to metal contact. Is there any reason to believe that the chains should focus on one layer frets faster than normal?
This is the most stupid that I never heard the coating is softer than the chain or use any box string you want, and find a new guitar tech you're right and he is a fool
