Electric Guitar Electra

Why is my guitar?
I have an old "Electra" (that's the brand) x940 electric guitar. There has been played since the 80, so I decided to fix it. I can re-solder most of the bad connections, and the guitar work. "But when I can connect to an amplifier, played for a few seconds through the amplifier so the sound stops. Sometimes back, but only for half a second and very random. PLEASE HELP!
