    I agree with the video,,
Seriously,, Id rather find a used USA or MIM over a highway one (crappy qual trussrod and neck)

Mexican strats 4 outta 20 will play decent,, but even then the neck will need to be set and dressed even if its brand new. Ive seen people buy a new mexican and have it refret right off the bat,, had new pickups installed ,,, whats the point over a decent usa one?

USA ,, may need a setup ,, cost more,, hold resale,, is worth a refret in the long run.

I got a nice MIM Strat Hss on e-bay, hardly used, I want to get a metal guitar.

  3. BoIivarDan says:

Hey, what about Huntington LACE Strat?
The craftsmanship on them is great. They stay in tune, the action is perfect.
Also, well the LACE pickups are fantastic.
    All this for around $250 ~ $350

Wrong!!! Wrong!!! Wrong!!! You Don’t Always Get What You Pay For!!! I Have A Gibson Flying V And It Cost $1,500.00!!! It Plays Good!!! I Played A Peavey Generation Guitar That Cost $300.00 And It Blew The Gibson Away!!! Just Because A Guitar Costs More Doesn’t Mean It’s Better!!! I Used To Think That They Had To Be Expensive To Be Good, But I Was Dead Wrong!!!

  5. 82977831 says:

Whats the difference between a Stratocaster Standard $750 – $900 and the Stratocaster American Standard $1200 – $1400? Both are american made. What’s the extra $500 – $600 going toward?

  6. Omiewise65 says:

@verdugo98 : Go to a guitar shop and try a Fender ClassicPlayer 60s Strat . Just try it ..

  7. Dugger1997 says:

@82977831 Quality of woods, electronics, tuners, bridges, etc. The American’s sound a little “better”, and they play “better”

  8. munkych33z says:

i have a fender P-bass, and its mexican made, and its actually REEEAALLYY good!

  9. neohiomale1947 says:

Hi David, love you informative vids, I just got a Squier CLASSIC VIBE 60 Strat, and I really love it, cost was round $350, and I like it better than some of the Mexicans I tried.

  10. LORDHOKAGE90 says:

there is a guy selling a gibson sg used for 140 dollars on craigslist. good deal or is it fake?

  11. ClientSeven says:

@LORDHOKAGE90 without posting a link, we dont know, so… we cant truely answer that, but, chances are, if it’s that cheap, and in good condition, it’s probably fake, or the guy is a retard, and doesnt know prices.

  12. acdczeppelinhalen1 says:

@LORDHOKAGE90 Make sure it actually says gibson on the headstock. Also ask him if there are any problems such as wiring problems. Gibson Sg’s usually cost $1,000 on average so yeah it is a good deal if its a real gibson

  13. acdczeppelinhalen1 says:

@siesmik123 Its supposed to “pop” or float up above the body some. But, if the bridge is floating to high for your preference, you can go to the back of the guitar and add more springs to bring it back down. But an esier fix is to just tighten the screws that hold the bridge block to the guitar. Just make sure to detune the strings. I would recomend looking up a quick guide on the internet. good luck

  14. Kumoxi says:

Dont buy american standard strats. Buy Classic player 60′s.

  15. boberfet6789 says:

    you look bad

  16. rhymeskill says:

    @LORDHOKAGE90

Whey they say Gibson and it’s $140.00 it’s most likely an Epiphone or a fake. The Epiphone SG-400 is pretty dang close to a Gibson SG. I own one and it’s hard to tell the difference in the Gibson I just purchased as far as sound goes. Of course the Gibson is better made and feels a little more solid but the Epiphone is solid for a beginner.

  17. cmstricker67 says:

@DylanBStringer91 its not the guitar its the one who is playing it

  18. DylanBStringer91 says:

@cmstricker67 It’s Actually Both!!! If A Good Guitarists Is Playing A Bad Quality Guitar That Sounds And Plays Like Complete Crap, Then He’s Not Going To Sound Good!!! If You Think It’s About The Guitar Player, Then you Need To Get A Guitar That Has A Warped Neck, Bad Frets, Bad Pots, Poor Pickups And Crappy Tuners!!! Play A Guitar Like That And See How Good You Sound!!!

  19. guitarfreakRSS says:

I dont necessarily agree. My favortite guitar in my collection at the moment is my Squier affinity series strat in candy apple red. I think it has been almost 5 years i have had this guitar so i am quite familiar with it as it was also my first guitar. I think in some cases squier is better than fender themselves, however in other cases which is most fenders are better.

  20. spdking01 says:

@MultiAlien3 Have both. Believe me, you will NEED the Stratocaster sooner or later. A metal guitar is able to play all kinds of music, but nothing compared to a Stratocaster made style of music. If you can, have them both. If not, save your Stratocaster and get a metal guitar as soon as you can afford one.

  21. jezzepi says:

hey dave, is there a huge difference in the pickups in the late 90s mexican strats comparied to the later models ? i have found both but theres $100 difference, is it worth the extra cash ?

  22. Noobstur323 says:

I was made in Mexico and I will be buying a Mexican strat soon.

  23. rkc5150 says:

@DylanBStringer91 i’ve had a Mexican strat and it was a VERY GOOD guitar. I now have an American G & L and the Mexi-strat can’t hold a candle to it. Again, the Mexican strat was a great guitar, but you do get what you pay for.

  24. futurfry says:

my fender strat is STILL my favorite guitar, and like dylan, i have a 13,000$ les paul that is nothing to my mexi

  25. JohnLennonVideos86 says:

wow. A mexican made fender strat a beginner guitar? I wish I had a strat when I first started guitar…
