Do You Need to Learn How to Play Classic/electric Guitar Before Learning Bass?
i want to learn bass guitar for my church band but i have no clue how to start.
all my friends saying you have to learn electric/classical guitar before doing bass.
but since its christian songs i'm bound to play like 2 notes every measure?? so should i just wing it and start with the bass or spend time learning guitar first and progress.

bass is sooo much easier you don’t need to learn chords. Your friends are just jealous cause you are taking the easy road.
i know alot of christian songs that dont have 2 notes per measure.
have you ever heard of the bands "UnderOath" and "The Devil Wears Prada"? Those are christian bands and none of their stuff is two notes per measure, listen to a few of their songs to see for yourself.
And there these guys that live next door to me that are in a band and the bass guitarist doesn’t even know how to play electric.
