Five steps to help you move from beginner to Guitar Hero

The rising popularity of guitar bands and the phenomenal success of the game franchise Guitar Hero has led to more and more people taking up the guitar recently. Sales of guitars in the UK has reached record levels during the last three years and people increasingly begin to play the guitar has exceeded the piano as the most taught in schools.

With all these people think learn to spend a couple of tips my 10 years experience playing guitar and using the point in the right direction as they begin to learn his technique. In this article, I listed some things that I consider very important to play well, but often overlooked by those who arrive early. If you are an experienced player, so it is not much here for you, but if you are back to playing the guitar, I hope to help and perhaps shed light on things perhaps had not thought of before.

Theory

The factor that has helped improve my playing the guitar more than any other has taken the time to learn the rudiments of music theory. Once they have out of the pentatonic scale, so overused by rock guitarists, you find that your song-writing and improvisation lights rapidly. Believe or not, learning to balance makes you freer than when I do not know. Ironically, learning the rules of music has made me much more open than before play expressively. Do not forget that once you know, you can break them, and that is where the game really can start to get interesting.

So how I learn the theory that he had to play the guitar rock, and how could learn well?

Well, it was not a quick process and I am certainly not yet completed, I learned something new all the time and it is a massive amount, I do not know yet. I started by learning one or two types of large-scale in E major, C major and D major are good to go. Try to find a song you know in one of these buttons and play on it, collecting the notes that sound good, and notes do not sound right. A good way to learn scales is through some of the guides and floats freely on the Internet.

I started by learning one or two positions For each scale, taking one or two. Once you have made this a good way to help your own is to learn each level each single string. Go slowly at first, one or two strings at a time and just happened when you feel comfortable. The advantage of doing this is that before you know it, you'll know everything Note: You can press each string to remain in the positions main switching and becomes a breeze. Once you are satisfied with the major scale, you can start to pick up the minor keys, which is actually much easier than you think.

Since the learning I looked at the agreements and how they are constructed and how they work together. I recommend learn the scales first, because once you have available, construction contracts becomes much easier. The key factor in learning is not only knowing how parrot "is a" Cmin7, but rather to learn why it is C minor seventh. Once you know what arrangements are then you can build in any Instead you need and you will find that little bit easier to write melodies much higher.

A detailed guide to learn music theory is beyond the scope of this article, but I hope that highlighted an area that may be missing in your playing the guitar. Remember, even the most basic scales major and minor, can make a world of difference when I told him that the next song, or improvising with his band. A wide range of free courses available on the web, and some YouTube tutorials, so be sure to check them.

Folding

Something that I consider essential in order to play the guitar rock is being able to bend precision chain. Bending is what makes the electric guitar is the instrument, having been used by countless guitarists transmit all kinds of emotions imaginable. When done well a big change sounds incredible, but it hurts, it may seem terrible. If you have a musical ear, so you should not have many problems flexion and essential maintenance. However, if you're like me and not lucky enough to have the ear, so you sometimes have to instruct properly.

For best results to bend the strings always try to use three fingers of his left hand. It seems to me to rock the best method is to worry about the note starting with ring and use the index and middle fingers to help control the string as you bend. Usually I bring my thumb on the neck and "squeeze" handle to bend the note. Some would argue that guitarists carry around the thumb is a bad technique, but I think that helps her control and is useful for cutting chains that do not play.

Once you have a solid technique, the first thing to do is make sure that the address key. Choose any notes on his guitar. Then, take a note of two boxes, and play. Play the two notes, one after another to get used to the sound of the interval. Once you have the sound in your head, play the first note and then second turn. This curvature is the key more often used in rock guitar playing and you should make sure you are comfortable with it. Once you mastered you can try a table (semitone) bends and even three corners. Remember to always bend a note that is in the key the song you playing, nothing sounds worse than to bend the key!

To listen to a fantastic series of bending guitar solo in a stream of Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd. You should be able to hear a lot of blues style bends and curves very controlled through wide intervals.

Vibrato

His vibrato can be defined as touching or feel that you play. How do you vibrato the notes you play often defined as a player and help you apart from all the world. For example, take Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve with his vibrato Super Vai a much smoother and controlled. You can differentiate two instantly. In fact, I would even say that it is possible that both play the same passage of music and can be the difference, even when playing the same notes.

The vibrato is to change the tone of the note you have to give a voice and the quality and expression reading it. The amount and rate at which the note vibrato is completely to your liking, so I really just try everything you can imagine. Try everything and see what you think that sounds better. As a test, try playing a melody with some light vibrato. Then play again but not a single note tremolo. The time and frequency of sound without vibrato rather dull and uninteresting. This is an important technique to work like that once you seem like a real guitar and not a beginner.

When watch the vibrato movement generally comes from the wrist. I try not to overdo it and usually comes out of the atmosphere of the music decide how aggressively I vibrato the note. Not really a way to show unwavering vibrato, I found the best method was just watching my favorite guitarists because they have played and gathering techniques I went, until it settled into a sound that felt comfortable.

Try some songs from Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, BB King to get a good idea of some different vibrato sounds.

Synchronization

Timing is everything. He does not need as complex as Dream Theater, but one thing is certain, if you play outside sound waste of time. Question time applies to direct and play the rhythm, but of course, is ten times bigger to play rhythm, after all, is why to play.

A great way to make sure you play in time is always at practice with a metronome. They are inexpensive and are available in all stores music and, failing that, there are several free software metronomes floating on the web. Always playing with a rhythm that used to hit notes in time and stick to a pace regular. Before joining a group I've played in a rhythm and practices and early on I was quite the scene I just used to jamming around on my own.

Remember that even the simplest of passes must be in time and you should be able to touch your private parts consistent pace.

Harvest

One aspect that is often overlooked by new guitarists picking hand. I was the same, usually all the attention is on one side taking care to ensure that these agreements stick and becomes a good sound. However, manual harvesting is equally important and will have a significant impact on the sound. So are a variety of approaches when choosing their notes while you play, you can play fast and precise or loose and slower and everything in between. If you ignore your picking technique you need to go back and re- to learn what he had to do after three years of play.

Technical collection is vital for strong rhythm playing as you will have to be able to play the same every time the song plays. You should ensure your hand harvesting is well synchronized with the restless hand, do not want to meet dead notes, especially in specific sections.

Collection technique is good enough for a separate article, but remember not to neglect. Try to find videos YouTube of Paul Gilbert and John Petrucci in selecting art. For a softer touch, you can always use Wind Cries Mary Jimi Hendrix Castles Made of Sand and some large sections on them to pick up new ideas.

In conclusion.

Although I have not done anything revolutionary here, I hope that can be identified deficiencies in game that you can keep in mind that you work on your technique. These are often the things I see new guitarists to play for some high power chords or trying work as a slave, first. Remember that the key to learning anything new to the guitar is to start slow and make sure you can play correctly before moving to the speed. Taking it easy and learn better technical guitarist will become a much better and more flexible in the future.
