Like using an amp, how to mess with the volume and tone controls, using a Whammy bar, things like that.
All the things relating to using your fingers and scales and such, can still be valuable
Sure. Some things won’t apply, and some things will be a little different, but you’ll still be able to learn the basics like chords, note names, scales, etc. I’d recommend using DVDs alongside written lessons:

Yes, the basic techniques are the same. You use the same chords and scales etc. If the DVD lessons are geared specifically towards electric guitar then there might be some little tricks like using feedback and volume swells that will be irrelevant to acoustic guitar but over all, the same ideas apply. There are tons of books and videos out there though so you should be able to get other lesson material for not a lot of money. If you are just starting out you should seek out a teacher if you can afford it.
