Considering you already play bass, you shouldn’t find guitar too hard. However, I play both and find bass to be a lot easier, but that’s just my personal opinion. When it comes to learning guitar, its best to start with proper technique. If you form bad habits its going to be tough to break them. But I’m sure you are already good at picking and fretting because you play bass.
There are a lot of free resources on the web, such as http://www.wholenote.com but because you are a true newbie at guitar you will probably want to invest in lessons. I personally went to an instructor that lived down the street, but you might not have that same convenience. My friend bought a program online and it allowed him to get really good really fast. He’s even better than me now
http://0406eemcqa7v6q9fnbwhffcse7.hop.clickbank.net/ is the program he used. They have a lot of testimonials and information on the site, and its rather inexpensive for a whole year’s worth of lessons, which i believe (but not sure) you can go through at any pace. Perfect for your situation, because you want to learn a lot fast!
hope you get the spot in the band!
yes it is. kinda. you can go for leasons but they can only teach you so much. you learn my teaching yourself. try some begginer songs like smoke on the water by deep purple and then elevate from there when you think you’re doing better.
You can but it would be really difficult, you might not be that good eather. Most people practice long amounts of time to learn any instrument. Scince you play bass it might make it a little easier but not much. Jazz is not the easiest genre to learn to play eather. It is more about feeling the music that reading it.
Of course! Just enjoy what you’re learning and put some time into it-if you don’t really get certain contents…=D serioously…play with your heart, the mood you’re in…. ;b
