US $19.99

You won’t get anything "not bad" for $100 unless you look at the 2nd hand market (which I don’t usually recommend). Ebay is fine, providing you choose a good seller (DON’T pick anyone with less than 8000 feedback with lower than 95% positive for expensive things.)
If you put effort into it, it’s easy.
For about $140 on ebay you can get a new Squier strat, which is decent, and enough for a beginner. But you also have to buy an amp, remember, and that will bring your total up to about $200.
when they say free shipping, it means you just pay for the guitar, no more.
The instrument is only as hard as you are lazy
If you aren’t sure you want to play guitar, maybe have a good think about it, its a lot of money. You could also try acoustic first, thats cheaper.
and don’t go for cheap brands like Toyama or whatever, they sound and feel horrible. My first electric guitar was an Ibanez EDR 470, can’t really remember how much I paid for it because it was so long ago.. but it was around the $200-300 mark, and I’m glad I spent that amount on it after trying out some cheaper axes.
Honestly with a hundred dollars your not going to get anything amazing but you could probably afford a decent starter guitar. I would suggest going to your local walmart if you have one, and they sell several different First Act brand guitars. First Act is a basic starter guitar. If your determined to buy online you can try Musiciansfriend.com they have incredible prices. Your going to need a small amplifier, a chord to connect you guitar and your amp, a set of strings(try ernie ball super slinky) and possibly a distortion pedal and a tuner. If you want to know some of the good names in guitar look for Dean, Washburn, Gibson, Fender, Jackson, B.C. Rich, or Ibanez. Good luck!
