Are Guitar Lessons Worth Taking and Do They Help ?
I got my electric guitar from Christmas in 2008, I am self taught and have been playing for 2 months. Do lessons really help, are they worth taking, and for how long ?
I would like to learn Metal and Hardcore/screamo songs on guitar and maybe one day be in a band !!!

If you just care to play around, then no, but if you want to be really good, then, yes, lessons are well worth it. Find a guitar teacher who specializes in the type of music you are interested in, but don’t be unwilling to learn other types of music. You can learn a lot of skills playing other music that carry over to help make you great at the style of music you are interested in. As for how long – take them until you are as good as you want to be. No matter how good you get, you can always get better!
